_{Jo was born to two hunters in the Borean class, right in the icy cold. Her mother and father loved her a lot, though she never had it easy. Her parents were veteran hunters, but still had a hard time raising their daughter. Either one or both of them would be sent out to do their jobs, and she'd be stuck with her grandparents who were retired Boreans. They'd always tell her stories of how the world was before the sudden Ice Age. The young girl would listen in delight, imagining the 'green' grass they spoke of.}

_{However with the time, nothing was good forever.}

_{While her parents were out hunting one day, a group of Cannibals ambushed them, and killed her mother. Jo would never see her mother again, for after the Cannis killed her, they took her body. Her father returned home with blood stains on his clothes and dark circles around his eyes. The sudden tragedy put the cheery young girl into a quiet, angry state. Although she didn't have a long time to sit and think about it, for two months later she was made a hunter's apprentice, by her choice.}

_{Once she started her training, she realized that a hunter was not as easy as she had though. She first had been put through rigorous training to get into shape, before spending long days learning how to shoot a bow and arrow and to learn how to skin an animal. Towards the beginning of her training, however, she met her companion. A friend of her father had rescued a young harpy eagle, and knowing that his daughter was looking for a companion, he took it in. Jo was overjoyed at the sight of the young eagle, and she quickly got to training him. She named him Xanthos, after an old greek legend.}

_{By the time she turned 16, he was 3 years old. Ever since then, she never went anywhere without him.}

_{She, herself, turned into a skilled hunter. She graduated to a hunter at the end of her 19th year, right before she turned 20.}

_{{Early Hunter-ship}}

_{In the first year of her new position, she came across her first ambush. She was out on a patrol with some others, and the group was out numbered immensely. That day, Josephine learned why hunters keep an extra weapon on hand. At the time, she only had a knife. She fought along with the rest of the group, but it was clear they were losing. During the fight, someone set off and explosion, one which Jo was standing near. All she seems to remember afterwards, is that her face felt like it was on fire before she blacked out.}

_{The young hunter woke up with the right side of her face in bandages. Her father told her what happened, and that the skin would never heal properly. When she got the bandages removed, she found out what he meant. The skin from her eyebrow down just below her cheek was a paler version of her skin, and that she couldn't open her right eye all the way. She was devastated at first, but didn't let it slow her down. She got her hair cut so that it mostly covered up that side of her face, also making it shorter.}
